About this Club
‘To learn a language is to have one more window from which to look at the world.’
‘Learning another language is not only learning different words for the same things, but learning another way to think about things.’
– Flora Lewis
Have you ever thought how we make sense of this big beautiful bad world? We try to name, describe and validate our perceptions through words. Hence, language is one of the keys to open the doors of knowledge and wisdom. Basha -Taranga, a multi lingual language club is a student’s venture to hone skills of expression, articulation and other linguistic skills. But the club also aims to be mindful of the thought process which provides content for expression. The club hosts various activities in Kannada, Hindi, Sanskrit and English languages. We, the Volunteers of the club believe in teamwork and sharing of ideas and work. We do not mind walking an extra mile to make things extraordinarily different for the participants in terms of conceptualising an activity and introducing new parameters to weigh and measure the performance. We meet on a regular basis to brainstorm and generate new ideas.
In an unprecedented situation like this , we are stretching our imagination to create virtual platforms for students to showcase their talents. Spellathon, Spellbee, Poetry Recital, Poetry performance, Translation, Short story in 100 words and two minute short films, JAM, Mock interview are some of the activities which are on the cards.
Wish us all the best! Do take part!
